The Loop Lab workforce program - LOOP DREAMS

                         FALL 2018 Applications are CLOSED

Are you a story-teller? A self-starter? Do you have talent or interests in music, film, or other storytelling mediums and want to share your work with the wider world? Would you like to use your love of audio/video to gain skills and work in the media arts industry?  Join LOOP DREAMS, a program of The Loop Lab!

The FREE media arts workforce program is a 19-week introduction into audio and video, and includes training in professional audio/video recording, editing, digital storytelling, and marketing. This is accompanied with a 200 hr PAID corporate internship. The goal of our free program is to build up employable skills in young adults from underrepresented backgrounds in the creative job market and to create a path to local internships; trainees will also receive an education in financial literacy, wellness, life skills and learning on state-of-the-art equipment

Trainees can expect to learn storytelling, audio/video recording, and editing. On internship, you have the chance to work with and to learn from top industry leaders!

Two 19-week sessions are being offered (Oct. 2018-March 2019; July 2019). The Fall 2018 application are closed! Class days/times are Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday evenings, 6:30pm-9pm

We are located in the heart of Central Square, Cambridge, Mass, at 872 Massachusetts Ave, Unit 1-5, Cambridge, MA 02139

Our learning community is easily accessible by the MBTA Redline via Central Square Station (5 min walk), and by several buses including the #1 and #47

We are looking for trainees with the following qualifications: 

  • Able to consistently commit to 19 weeks of training and 200 hrs of internship in the Fall 2018 

  • High School diploma or GED recepient

  • 18-26 yrs old

  • Have a connection to the Port Community in Cambridge, MA

  • Interested in content creation and digital storytelling (music, podcasting, film, social media marketing, etc.)

* Trainees DO NOT have to be currently enrolled in college, or have completed college coursework to apply. Trainees currently in college, or who have completed college coursework are welcome to apply.  College graduates are NOT eligible for this program

Fall 2018 Requirements:

Applicants have two options to submit an application. You can either complete and submit the online application...

OR you can print, complete, then mail the PDF application to us directly to our address at The Loop Lab, 872 Massachusetts Ave., Unit 1-5, Cambridge, MA 02139, Attn: Enrollment

Once you complete and submit your application, our enrollment dept. may reach out to you directly to schedule an in-person interview. In the application itself, there is a slot where you must give a date when you could be available for a in-person interview. This does NOT mean you will be scheduled for that date/time.  

**If an applicant completes the interview stage, they may be asked to follow up with their interview by providing a copy of their High School Diploma or GED, and one professional recommendation (from a non-relative). An enrollment decision will be made 1-2 wks after all documents are submitted.
