AI Initiatives

Preparing the next generation for an AI-enabled workforce — and building the internal capacity to serve them better.

The world our apprentices are entering is being reshaped by artificial intelligence. The media production, audiovisual technology, and creative industries where Loop Lab graduates build their careers are changing rapidly — and the employers who hire our graduates are changing with them.

At The Loop Lab, we believe that young people from underrepresented communities deserve to enter that world prepared, confident, and equipped — not playing catch-up to peers who had earlier access to these tools. Responsible AI fluency is no longer a bonus skill. It is a baseline expectation across the industries we serve.

That is why we are investing in AI — not as a trend, but as a core part of how we prepare young people for sustainable careers and how we run our organization.

What We Are Building

Our AI work spans two connected areas.

Workforce Readiness

We are developing and expanding AI-focused curriculum and training for our apprentices and community members — practical, hands-on programming that builds the skills today’s employers expect. This includes responsible AI use in media production workflows, AI-assisted job searching and professional communications, portfolio development, and workplace readiness for an AI-integrated environment.

Organizational Capacity

We are building internal AI tools designed to help our small team do more of what matters most — mentoring young people and strengthening employer partnerships. These tools include an AI-assisted grant research system already in active use by our staff, and the Loop Lab Apprenticeship Intelligence System — an internal platform that tracks apprentice progress, attendance, and employer feedback in real time, allowing our team to identify challenges earlier and intervene with mentorship before small obstacles become reasons to leave the program. Where We Are Now

Our AI initiatives are currently in active development. Internal tools are operational and in daily use. Workforce readiness programming has launched and is expanding. Additional initiatives — spanning curriculum, community education, and program infrastructure — are in development and will be announced as they become available.

We are building carefully and deliberately, with the same commitment to quality and community impact that defines everything we do at The Loop Lab.

Partner With Us

We are actively seeking funding partners, employer collaborators, and community organizations who share our belief that access to AI fluency is an equity issue — and that young people from underrepresented communities deserve to be at the front of that conversation, not the back of it.

If you are a funder interested in supporting this work, an employer looking to engage with an AI-ready talent pipeline, or an organization interested in partnering on community AI education, we would welcome the conversation. Contact: ops@thelooplab.org
