REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)
Communications & Storytelling Lead (Contract)
Youth-Led Campaign | The Loop Lab
Overview
The Loop Lab is seeking a Communications & Storytelling Lead to design and execute a youth-led storytelling campaign that drives awareness, engagement, and enrollment across our Media Arts and ProAV Apprenticeship programs.
This is not a traditional content role.
We are looking for someone who can build a strategic communications engine that connects storytelling to real outcomes: applications, enrollment, and career pathways for young people across Greater Boston.
This role will work directly with Loop Lab staff and apprentices to shape a campaign that is youth-authored, outcome-driven, and built for impact.
About The Loop Lab
The Loop Lab is a Boston-based nonprofit advancing workforce equity in media arts and creative technology.
We provide:
Paid apprenticeships
Industry-recognized credentials
Direct pathways into creative and technical careers
Our apprentices don’t simulate work. They do it.
Our communications should reflect that.
The Opportunity
This campaign, Made at The Loop, will center stories created by our apprentices.
Not content about their journey.
Content from it.
We are looking for someone who can help translate these stories into a clear, compelling, and measurable communications strategy that reaches:
Young creatives (ages 16–26)
Families and caregivers
School counselors and referral partners
Employers and workforce partners
The goal: a young person sees this and thinks, that could be me.
What You’ll Do
1. Strategy & Story Development
Lead discovery sessions with youth, alumni, and caregivers
Identify core narrative themes tied to career outcomes
Develop a storytelling framework and content plan
2. Campaign Production (Youth-Led)
Guide 2–3 production cycles with apprentices as lead creators
Provide technical and creative direction without overriding youth voice
Ensure high-quality, platform-ready content
3. Content & Deliverables
Oversee creation of:
6–8 short-form videos (15–60 seconds)
1 overview video (60–90 seconds)
Ensure all content is optimized for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
Deliver all final assets, raw footage, and editable files
4. Distribution & Growth
Design and execute a digital distribution strategy (paid + organic)
Define performance metrics tied to applications and enrollment
Track performance and adjust strategy in real time
5. Capacity Building
Train Loop Lab staff on content distribution and analytics
Build systems that can be sustained after the campaign ends

25% increase in qualified applications
30% increase in website traffic to program pages

Who You Are
You are someone who:
